4.2 Materials that Conduct Electricity

  1. All metal objects conduct electricity.
  2. They are called conductors.
  3. For example, iron nail, paper clips and steel spoons are conductors.
  4. The bulb will light up when these objects are connected in a circuit.
  5. Wire are made of materials that conduct electricity.
  6. This allows the electricity from the battery to flow through them to light up the bulb.
  7. Non-metal objects do not conduct electricity
  8. They are called non-conductors.
  9. For example, plastic, rubber and wood are non-conductors.
  10. The bulb will not light up when these objects are connected in a circuit.
